DIY Flooring: Heaven or hell?
So it was probably the hottest day of the year when I decided to lose my wooden-floor laying virginity

It took a whole day virtually just to get the room prepared, remove all the furniture, lay the DPM (Damp proof membrane) and the fibre-board underlay. We didn’t buy the most expensive flooring (too scared I might screw it up & lose a shed load of money), however we certainly didn’t buy the cheapest.
If it interests anyone who wants to lose 2 days of their life but save around £500 over the cheapest quote from the “professionals” then I would say it’s certainly possible to do it yourself. It’s also useful to have a mate help you – it’s pretty slow going on your own!
“Our Keith” gave me a hand – he fits kitchens for a living so was a diamond geezer to have around, telling me what tools I needed etc etc… certainly saved me alot of grief.

Will,
It looks good although I find the workingplace to be, ehum, rather simple
Kind regards,
Dennis
Hi Dennis,
It was a temporary “workstation” whilst I was looking after Charlie
