Ozgrid approaches 4th Birthday
On 24 Jan 2007, my old mate Dave Hawley’s Execl Q&A site, Ozgrid celebrates its 4th bithday.
Here are some stats from Alexa for the “reach” he’s gotten over the past 6 months. I put a couple of other well known Excel Q&A sites up there as well for comparison. I’ve always found Dave’s site a great resource & most of the guys who hang out there are friendly & know their stuff.
So i’d just like to say thanks for a great resource Dave & Happy Birthday for the 24th.
Unfortunately, there is some real garbage on that site. E.g. Sort concat is brain dead.

Proof: sort these columns in order 1-2-3-4.

Concat result is rows:
2, 1, 4, 3 – strings
4, 2, 3, 1 – numbers
Correct is:
pass1 – 1,2,3,4 (column4)
pass2 – 4,2,1,3
pass3 – 4,3,2,1
pass4 – 4,3,2,1 (column1)
The HTML display screwed up my example.
1st column below 11 are all blank.
2nd column below 00 are all blank.
3rd column below 88 is blank.
77 is in 4th column
The spaces were trimmed out.
Oh for sure there is! And out of the 8,000 or so posts I have made, I’m sure some of the solutions I have given won’t work in some situations. In fact I’ll readily admit that I’ve unknowingly written some garbage in my time…

But hey…Show me a Help Forum, Newsgroup or Q&A Board that consists of purely bulletproof answers and you get a mystery prize.
It’s so easy to pick holes in a given solution. Congrats!
